Spring Skin Facial Treatments

Spring Skin Facial Treatment

So it’s spring time and everyone wants that natural glowing skin. Well lucky for you, this post will give you some tips on which facial treatments can help you to achieve glowing spring skin! I will be discussing in-salon as well as DIY facial treatments. Let’s start off with the in-salon facials…

Benefits of Facial Treatments:

  1. Improves the overall health of your skin:

Facial treatments tend to care for the damages that we can’t see, such as environmental damage (sun damage, pollution and stress). By attending to these ‘inconsistencies’ on your skin, the facial improves the overall health and appearance of your skin.

  2. Opens your pores in healthy way:

Think of your pores as a nose, you know how annoying it is when your nose is blocked. Well our skin gets annoyed in the same way when our pores are blocked (and that’s what causes break-outs). Facials help to unclog the pores by means of exfoliation and extractions. This is necessary to avoid further break outs.

  3. Healthy blood circulation:

By receiving a massage whilst having a facial, not only ensures that all the healthy products are absorbed into your skin. A massage also improves the blood circulation underneath your skin which ensures a healthy, glowing skin.

  4. Facials usually includes extractions:

In order to get rid of problems like acne, blackheads or whiteheads it is extremely important to have extractions done by a professional because if it is not done in the right way you will spread the problem. Professional beauticians have specialised in skincare for a reason and they know what they are doing!

  5. De-Stressing!

Facials are not only vital to the health of skin, but also to de-stress. If you have a stressful job, or a draining lifestyle, it is important to look after yourself every once in a while. So basically facial treatments are a double deal, as you walk out feeling relaxed and you have great looking skin!

In-Salon Facial Treatment:

The two in-salon facials that will be discussed are:

I prefer the Nimue facials and would recommend it to all my clients, whether you have environmentally damaged skin, acne or mature skin. However the Aloe Unique facials are a cheaper alternative to the Nimue facial treatments and is also suitable for vegan clients.

  1. Therapeutic Treatment

This is a pampering treatment, customised to a client’s specific needs. This treatment is also recommended as an introductory treatment for new Nimue Clients.

  2. Deep Cleanse Treatment

A purifying treatment that provides effective skin clarification, which includes extractions and a treatment mask.

  3. Active Rejuvenation Treatment

Is an active treatment that facilitates dermal rejuvenation, reduces pore size and ensures overall skin improvement.

  4. 7.5% TCA Treatment

This is a deep exfoliating treatment that results in radiant and smooth skin by means of superficial peeling – this enhances the cell regeneration and improves your skins health.

  5. 35% Glycolic Treatment

Is a hydrating, deep exfoliating treatment  that improves skin texture and overall appearance, this treatment will leave your skin with an instant plumpness.

  6. SRC Treatment

A rejuvenating treatment which includes superficial peeling, which targets hyper-pigmentation, aging and problematic skin.

  7. Micro-Needling Treatment

This treatment specialises in promoting collagen and re-modelling the skins firmness.

Aloe Unique

  2. Deep Cleanse Treatment

A treatment that leaves your skin feeling refreshed and smooth. Aloe Ferox effectively treats acne, inflammation and reduces the appearance of red marks.

At-home-Facial-Treatments:

Beaten Egg White Mask
  • After beating the white of about two or three eggs, to a foamy texture, brush a thin layer onto your skin and let it dry (Re-applying on problem areas). Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes and rinse thoroughly. This treatment is both an exfoliation and mask, removing dead skin cells and hydrating your skin at the same time. This mask is particularly great for problematic skin types.
  • To convert this mask into an effective black head remover, take thin strips of kitchen towel paper, dip them into the egg white and let it dry. Leave on for about 15 minutes, until the kitchen towel has dried and peel off. Remember to wash your face thoroughly after each of these home treatments.
Avocado Mask

This is a great mask for dry, peeling and scaling skin. The avocado and coconut oil provide replenishing moisture, while the honey helps to heal any chafed or raw areas.

  • 1/2 a very ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil

Mash the avocado until it’s smooth and creamy, then blend in the rest of the ingredients. Apply to your face, avoiding your eyes, and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Wipe your skin clean with a damp, warm cloth, or rinse your face with warm water in the shower.

Oatmeal Mask

Oatmeal is great for soothing rough, angry skin and for helping to heal eczema and acne breakouts. Paired with honey and yogurt, it’s a calming and revitalizing mask for all skin types.

  • 1/3 cup instant oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1-2 tablespoons plain, unsweetened yogurt

Add the water to your oatmeal and stir for a few minutes until it’s plumped up nicely. Add the honey and yoghurt, and put through a blender to smooth and combine it really well. Slather this all over your face, leave on for 10 minutes or so, and  wash off with luke warm water. To finish off, pat your skin dry and apply moisturiser.
