Today’s post is all about which beauty secrets lurk in my fridge.
I always have two things in my fridge, not just for cooking but for two beauty secrets that I have been using since high school.
Mayo hair mask
- At least once a month I put mayonnaise on my hair as a mask. I make sure to comb the mayonnaise through my hair to make sure its all covered then I leave it on for 15-30 minutes. Wash and rinse hair thoroughly at least 3 times (to get rid of the mayo smell). This treatment is especially good for dry and dull hair to give it some strength and shine.
Beaten Egg white mask
- After beating the white of about two or three eggs, to a foamy texture, brush a thin layer onto your skin and let it dry (Re-applying on problem areas). Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes and rinse thoroughly. This treatment is both an exfoliation and mask, removing dead skin cells and hydrating your skin at the same time. This mask is particularly great for problematic skin types.
- To convert this mask into an effective black head remover, take thin strips of kitchen towel paper, dip them into the egg white and let it dry. Leave on for about 15 minutes, until the kitchen towel has dried and peel off. Remember to wash your face thoroughly after each of these home treatments.
REMEMBER that when it comes to your face the most important thing is to cleanse daily!
Short but sweet, I know. But it works. So, try these two secrets out this weekend… and thank me on Monday!
